Job Description

What does the company do?
We are a technology consultancy delivering digital, cloud, data, AI and managed services to organisations across the UK.

We are looking for a Digital Marketing Analytics Executive to support both the company’s own digital presence and client engagements. The role focuses on understanding how websites are performing, who is using them, how users discover and navigate them, and how data can be translated into practical recommendations for improving content, search visibility, user experience and strategic outcomes.

This is not primarily a content creation or social media marketing role. It is an analytical and increasingly technical digital role working across web analytics, SEO, website performance and emerging AI-mediated search.

How you expect the candidate to spend their day:
  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4): review traffic and acquisition by source, medium and channel; landing-page and individual-page performance; engagement and user journeys; geography and device data; new vs returning users; referrals and UTM campaigns; downloads, events and conversions.
  • Google Search Console: monitor search queries, page-level organic performance, clicks, impressions, CTR, average position, indexing/coverage, Core Web Vitals and backlink information.
  • SEO performance: monitor visibility and rankings across priority themes and search terms, competitor/share-of-search performance, technical SEO health, backlinks/domain authority, and content gaps and opportunities.
  • Establish website performance baselines so that the impact of future development and investment can be measured objectively.
  • Build and maintain KPI dashboards and regular reporting frameworks, including tools such as Looker Studio.
  • Analyse which audiences are finding a website, what content attracts them, how they move through the site, what actions they take and where user journeys can be strengthened.
  • Support AI/search visibility analysis, including AI referral traffic, visibility/citation against agreed questions and topics, accuracy of representation in AI-generated answers, crawlability and discoverability.
  • Review structured data/schema, entity signals, content structure and authority from an AI/search discovery perspective.
  • Help develop a methodology and baseline for Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), LLM visibility and emerging AI search channels.
  • Translate data into clear recommendations for content, UX, SEO and technical website development.
  • Work with internal teams, client stakeholders, external developers and agencies, using evidence to identify issues, opportunities and priorities.
  • Support prioritised website roadmaps and recommendations for future development phases.
  • Apply the same capabilities to our own website, digital performance and lead-generation activity as well as client projects.

The ideal candidate's personality and qualifications:
We are looking for someone analytical, technically curious, commercially aware and confident working with data. The successful candidate will work across both internal and client-facing activity, so they must be able to explain findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Essential / strongly preferred:
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Digital Marketing, Marketing Analytics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business, Communications or a related subject.
  • Good working understanding of Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
  • Understanding of Google Search Console.
  • Good foundation in SEO, including on-page and technical SEO.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify patterns, issues and opportunities from data.
  • Good Excel and/or Google Sheets skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to translate technical information and data into clear, practical recommendations.
  • Comfortable working directly with colleagues, clients, developers and external agencies.
  • Strong attention to detail and genuine interest in websites, search, analytics and emerging AI technology.

Highly desirable:
  • Google Tag Manager and Looker Studio.
  • Core Web Vitals and PageSpeed.
  • Technical SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, Semrush or Ahrefs.
  • Schema.org / structured data.
  • Website accessibility and WCAG.
  • Conversion and event tracking and UTM measurement.
  • Basic HTML/CSS knowledge.
  • Experience or strong interest in AI search, GEO, LLM visibility and AI-driven discovery.

What are the perks of working at this company?
The role offers unusually broad exposure for a graduate, combining the internal digital performance with real client engagements. You will develop specialist skills across GA4, Search Console, SEO, technical website performance, dashboards and emerging AI search, while working alongside experienced technology consultants, client stakeholders and external agencies. You will also build client-facing consulting and presentation skills early in your career, with scope to take increasing ownership as the business expands this capability.

Questions for applicants to think about:
  • How would you establish a performance baseline for a website before a major new development phase?
  • Which GA4 metrics would you use to understand whether a website is reaching and engaging the right audiences?
  • How would you combine GA4 and Google Search Console data to identify an SEO or content opportunity?
  • What is the difference between measuring website traffic and measuring strategic effectiveness?
  • How would you assess whether an organisation is being represented accurately and visibly in AI-generated search answers?
  • Give an example of how you have used data to identify a problem, opportunity or recommendation.
How would you explain a technical SEO or analytics issue to a non-technical client stakeholder?
