Job Description
Are you a budding journalist with an interest in wealth management, banking, investment, global economic issues, regulation and tax?
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join its highly-regarded editorial team
About the Client
We are a specialist publishing and events business, focused on the private wealth management sector. The business produces news, analysis and commentary via three daily web-based subscription news services. We are also hosts of circa 50 annual events for the constituents that make up the advisory community, serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families.
Typically, these advisers are either private asset managers (ie private bankers and private client investment managers), or other advisory professionals (ie private client and family lawyers, tax accountants, trustees, fee-based IFAs, multi-family offices and so on).
The business is 26 years old and based in the City of London, however, staff tend to work on a flexible basis – often from home.
Please note that this role will work slightly unconventional hours. As our news alerts go out to different subscriber bases at 8am and 9am each morning, you will be required to work the following hours:
- 06.30 am to 8.30 am,
- 10.00 am to 2.00 pm
- 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm
With one hour for lunch, this will be 40 hours a week.
Successful applicant:
The growing editorial team is looking for an aspiring reporter who is looking to progress quickly and will help enhance the team’s offering. We are looking for a pro-active and hard-working individual who is looking to kickstart their journalistic career.
The role will suit a budding journalist with an interest in wealth management, banking, investment, global economic issues, regulation and/or tax, being a strong advantage.
Key tasks will include:
- Writing news stories to multiple deadlines each day, keeping abreast of relevant topics
- Writing features on the latest industry trends and developments
- Supporting the editorial team with a range of tasks to enhance overall output
- Profile writing for key industry figures
- Attending industry events alongside the editors, as and when necessary
